Today, 19 February 2019, Ambassador Sigutė Jakštonytė participated at the first European Union (EU) – Southern African Development Community (SADC) Economic Partnership Agreement Joint Council meeting that took place in Cape Town. The meeting was co-chaired by European Trade Commissioner Ms. C.Malmstrom together with Botswana Minister of Investment, Trade and Industry Ms. B.Kenewedo. The meeting was also attended by trade ministers from South Africa, Esvatini, Lesotho, Mozambique and Namibia, and EU ambassadors.
15 November 2018, the Lithuanian Embassy in Pretoria hosted an event on business opportunities in South Africa.
15-17 October 2018, Ambassador Sigutė Jakštonytė visited Namibia's capital Windhoek. During the visit, the ambassador met with representatives of the Ministry of International Relations and Cooperation of Namibia, Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Namibian Industry and Commerce Chamber Charity Mwiya. The meetings were used to discuss bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Namibia as well as opportunities for developing bilateral economic and trade relations.
On 20 September 2018, Ambassador Sigutė Jakštonytė visited the stands of Lithuanian companies at the Africa Aerospace and Defense 2018 exhibition. This year Lithuanian Defense Industry Sector was represented by the following companies - UAB ASU Baltija, UAB LitakTak, UAB SMT Group and UAB Helisota.
11 September 2018 representatives of the aircraft maintenance company FL Technics visited the Embassy in Pretoria.
On 24 March in Johannesburg Ambassador Sigutė Jakštonytė attended the official opening of the association of financial technology companies - Fintech4africa.
