Consular news »After the changes in the Law on the Legal Status of Foreigners came into effect on 1 July, foreigners who are not in Lithuania will apply for national visas only through the external service provider chosen by the Migration Department. Until now, such applications were accepted by Lithuanian diplomatic missions, consular offices or visa centers abroad selected by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

As my tour of duty is coming to an end, I am proud to share with you the highlights of my nearly three-year ambassadorial service in South Africa. Representing Lithuania's interests, developing diplomatic, political, economic, and cultural relations, promoting tourism to Lithuania, and providing development assistance to South Africa have been the Embassy's most important priorities. I am extremely satisfied with the results of our consistent work and efforts that will benefit my country as well as the Lithuanian citizens.

Embassy calls for submission of applications for the implementation of the following project concept:
“JOB CREATION AND DIGITAL SKILL DEVELOPMENT FOR YOUNG PEOPLE, WOMEN AND GIRLS in RSA”
The maximum grant per project is 15 000 EUR.

Activities of the Minister of Foreign Affairs » Multilateral Relations »Today, at the signing ceremony of the high-level week of the UN General Assembly in New York, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Gabrielius Landsbergis, on behalf of Lithuania, signed the Agreement under the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea on the conservation and sustainable use of marine biological diversity of areas beyond national jurisdiction. Lithuania is among the 52 countries that have joined the High Ambition Coalition on BBNJ. The signing of the agreement, together with other member states of the European Union, will allow the ratification process to begin.
