The Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History and the South African Holocaust and Genocide Foundation Strengthen Cooperation

On March 2, 2025, in Johannesburg, Dr. Simonas Strelcovas, Director of the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History, and Tali Nates, Chairperson of the South African Holocaust and Genocide Foundation (SAHGF), signed a cooperation agreement in the field of Holocaust remembrance and education.

The signing ceremony took place at the South African Holocaust and Genocide Centre, preceded by a discussion titled 'Echoes of the Past – Looking Towards the Future: Jewish History and its Presence Today at the Vilna Gaon Museum.'"

During the event, Tali Nates presented the history of Lithuanian Jews, and Dr. Simonas Strelcovas introduced the activities and future prospects of the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History.

On March 4th, the Director of the Vilna Gaon Museum of Jewish History will visit the Durban Holocaust and Genocide Centre, and on March 6th, the Cape Town Holocaust and Genocide Centre.
