Ambassador attended the official launch of association Fintech4africa

On 24 March in Johannesburg Ambassador Sigutė Jakštonytė attended the official opening of the association of financial technology companies - Fintech4africa.  

Opening the event Ambassador congratulated Johannesburg community of Financial Technology startups with the foundation of a new organization. Ambassador noted the already established contacts with similar associations in Lithuania, and expressed Lithuania's interest in expanding bilateral business and institutional cooperation in the area of Fintech.
The establishment of Fintech4afrika was initiated by the non-governmental organization Black Management Forum, with strategic support of the Standard Bank and the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania to South Africa. The aim of the newly established association is to promote the development of financial technologies in South Africa, to make it accessible to all groups of society, and provide proposals for improving the regulatory environment in South Africa.
At the event attended by financial services specialists, investors and experts of the financial regulatory environment, Ambassador S. Jakstonytė  presented the advantages of an innovative regulatory environment in Lithuania, aimed at financial companies seeking to expand their activities on the European market.
