Registration of a divorce registered abroad in Lithuania

Lithuanian citizens whose marriage was dissolved abroad must register the divorce in Lithuania. One of the former spouses, a Lithuanian citizen, must apply in person at the consular office (prior appointment by email at kons.za@urm.lt is required).

Required Documents:

Valid Lithuanian passport or ID card.
Application to register a divorce dissolved abroad. DOWNLOAD
Foreign-issued divorce certificate (legalized or authenticated with an Apostille).
Translation of the divorce certificate into Lithuanian.
Consular fee: 50 EUR.

If you wish to obtain a divorce extract, please also submit:

Application to issue an extract certifying a vital record entry at the diplomatic mission. DOWNLOAD
