Ambassador D. Junevičius presented his letters of credence to the President of the Republic of South Africa C. Ramaphosa

On 14 April, in Pretoria, H.E. Mr. Dainius Junevičius, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the Republic of South Africa, presented credentials to H.E. Mr. Cyril Ramaphosa, the President of the Republic of South Africa.

Addressing the President, Ambassador Junevičius noted that bilateral relations with the Republic of South Africa, based on historical people-to-people ties, are important for Lithuania and that there are many opportunities to strengthen cooperation in various fields, especially in the economic area. The Ambassador emphasized that granting of the visa-free regime to the citizens of Lithuania traveling to RSA would undoubtedly contribute to the mutually beneficial development of business and tourism, as well as strengthen ties between people of the two countries.

Diplomatic relations between Lithuania and the Republic of South Africa were established on 20 November, 1991. The Lithuanian Embassy in Pretoria opened its doors in 2015.
