Ambassador Rasa Jankauskaitė Attends Opening of Threads of Solidarity Exhibition in Pretoria
On December 1, Lithuania’s Ambassador to South Africa, Rasa Jankauskaitė, attended the opening of the Threads of Solidarity exhibition at Freedom Park.
The exhibition celebrates the enduring ties between Europe and South Africa, highlighting the courage and solidarity of citizens from across the 27 EU countries who stood alongside South Africans in the struggle against apartheid. Each of the 27 squares in the quilt tells one of these powerful stories.
Ambassador Jankauskaitė joined the EU Delegation and fellow EU Member State missions in honouring this meaningful initiative, which reflects shared values of freedom, justice, and human dignity.
The event emphasized the importance of remembering the past and strengthening future cooperation between Europe and South Africa, promoting solidarity, human rights, and shared values.
