Ambassador Rasa Jankauskaitė Participates in Moshoeshoe Walk 2026 in Lesotho

On 7 March 2026, the Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania, Rasa Jankauskaitė, participated in the annual Moshoeshoe Walk in Lesotho. The route retraces the historic path taken over two centuries ago by King Moshoeshoe I, the founding father of the Basotho nation, along which the Kingdom of Lesotho was later established in 1966. The walk was officially led by Her Majesty Queen ‘Masenate Mohato Seeiso of Lesotho.

The Moshoeshoe Walk is dedicated to honoring the legacy of King Moshoeshoe I, promoting regional cooperation, and fostering cultural exchange. This year’s route covered more than 100 kilometers across the Lesotho Highlands, offering participants a unique opportunity to explore the country’s history and natural beauty.

The Lithuanian team joined colleagues from Austria and Sweden, as well as representatives from the EU Delegation to Lesotho and the EU Delegation to South Africa, strengthening ties among international partners.

The Ambassador’s participation reflects Lithuania’s commitment to promoting international cooperation, cultural diplomacy, and shared values.
