Ambassador Rasa Jankauskaitė Welcomes Mykolas Romeris University Delegation
On 21 July 2026, Ambassador Rasa Jankauskaitė welcomed a delegation from Mykolas Romeris University (MRU) to the Embassy of Lithuania in Pretoria. The delegation included Prof. Dr. Vaidas Jurkevičius, Professor at the Law School, Alina Juškienė, Head of the International Partnerships Office, and Audra Dargytė Burokienė, Head of the International Office.
During the meeting, Ambassador Rasa Jankauskaitė and the delegation reviewed the outcomes of the delegation's visits to the University of Pretoria, the University of Johannesburg and the University of Venda, and discussed opportunities to further strengthen academic cooperation between Lithuania and South Africa. Particular attention was given to expanding institutional partnerships, promoting joint research initiatives, and encouraging student and academic staff mobility.
The visit formed part of Mykolas Romeris University's efforts to establish new partnerships with leading South African higher education institutions and to explore opportunities for long-term collaboration in education, research and innovation.
The Embassy of Lithuania in Pretoria remains committed to supporting initiatives that foster academic cooperation, strengthen people-to-people ties, and contribute to the development of closer bilateral relations between Lithuania and South Africa.
