Important information on changes of the Embassy’s activity during the Adjusted Alert Level 4
Due to the COVID-19 situation in Gauteng and the Adjusted Alert Level 4 (hereinafter – Level 4), applied by the South African Government from 28 June 2021, as well as due to the health and safety reasons of the Visitors and the Embassy’s staff, the following changes of the activity of the Lithuanian Embassy are introduced for the period of the validity of the Level 4:
1. The Visitor’s calendar for August and / or the subsequent moths to apply for the Lithuanian passports / ID cards will be opened only after the South African government will restore Level 3;
2. The already confirmed July visits for the passports / ID cards will remain valid during Level 4, nevertheless, the Embassy strongly advises to evaluate the COVID -19 situation in Gauteng and reconsider the necessity of traveling to Pretoria during Level 4;
3. IMPORTANT ! The Embassy will not issue any letters / invitations to travel to Pretoria. It has no authority to do so according to the provisions of the Disaster Management Act, 2002: (ACT NO. 57 of 2002): Determination of Alert Level;
4. The collection of passports / ID will be available during Level 4 upon the individual online registration - https://keliauk.urm.lt/en/user/register, however, as mentioned before, the Embassy strongly advises to evaluate the COVID -19 situation in Gauteng and reconsider the necessity of traveling to Pretoria for collection during Level 4;
5. IMPORTANT ! In case Level 4 will be upgraded to Level 5, all type appointments will be cancelled without further notice due to the health safety of the Visitors and the Embassy’s staff.
