Lithuanian Ambassador met with the Chairperson of the Charlotte Mannya-Maxeke Institute

On October 29, Ambassador Rasa Jankauskaitė met with Mr. Thulasizwe Makhanya, Chairperson of the Charlotte Mannya-Maxeke Institute (CMMI), to discuss the Institute’s programs and potential areas for future cooperation.

The CMMI preserves and promotes the legacy of Charlotte Makgomo Mannya-Maxeke, the first Black South African woman to earn a university degree (B.Sc., Wilberforce University, USA, 1901), and a pioneer in education, leadership, and women’s empowerment.

The discussion emphasized shared values of education, equality, and the empowerment of women and girls, exploring ways to foster dialogue and collaboration.
