Lithuanian Ambassador participated in the G20 Breakfast in Johannesburg

On 17 November, the Lithuanian Ambassador Rasa Jankauskaitė took part in the G20 Breakfast hosted by South Africa’s Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, H.E. Ronald Lamola — an important engagement in the lead-up to G20 Leaders’ Summit in Johannesburg on 22 and 23 November 2025.

Minister Lamola underlined the historic significance of the moment, noting that hosting the G20 on African soil for the first time — with the African Union as a full member — marks a milestone for the continent.

The discussions highlighted South Africa’s key G20 Presidency priorities:

- strengthening disaster resilience,

- ensuring debt sustainability for low-income countries,

- financing a just energy transition,

- harnessing critical minerals for sustainable and inclusive growth.

Lithuania values this dialogue and remains committed to supporting strong cooperation and multilateral engagement.
