November highlighted the growing connections between Lithuanian and South African academics, reflecting a shared dedication to advancing knowledge and academic collaboration.
On 17 November, Ambassador Rasa Jankauskaitė met with lecturer Vigilija Žiūraitė from Vytautas Magnus University, who was attending an international conference in Cape Town, showcasing Lithuanian expertise in Spanish language teaching within the broader international academic community.
On 20 November, Ambassador Rasa Jankauskaitė welcomed Lithuanian academics Morta Vidūnaitė (Vytautas Magnus University) and Povilas Aleksandravičius (Mykolas Romeris University), who delivered lectures at the University of Pretoria. Their presentations explored contemporary sociological and philosophical perspectives on religion, focusing on religious women and leadership, as well as themes of death and immortality.
These academic exchanges reflect the strengthening of ties between Lithuania and South Africa and highlight the ongoing cooperation between researchers and institutions in both countries.
