The possibilities for collaboration were discussed with national director of South African Jewish Board of Deputies Wendy Kahn
The Ambassador Sigutė Jakštonytė on 3 March at Lithuanian Honorary Consulate in Johannesburg met the national director of the South African Jewish Board of Deputies Wendy Kahn. During the meeting, W. Kahn introduced the nature of the activities of the Board and expressed the delight about the recent opening of Lithuanian Embassy in South Africa which was eagerly awaited by Jewish community. The possibilities for future collaboration between the Board and the Embassy were also discussed at the meeting.
South African Jewish Board of Deputies which was founded in the beginning of 20th Century, is central institution of South African Jewry. About 90 percent of South African Jews are of Lithuanian decent.
